About Get A Grip of Florabama and owner Rob Johansen as 2011 Vendor of the Year, Mobile Bay Area Apartment Association: I cannot remember the last time a new Associate Member joined the MBAAA and hit the floor running to the extent this one did. Staring a new business in a market is grueling and time consuming of its own accord, but this new business owner did not let that keep him from jumping right in, from day one, and making himself available in any conceivable way to help make our apartment association grow and prosper. From volunteering on committees to toting heavy stuff to lending a helping hand and kind word wherever he saw fit - he has been there. Not to mention all his other attributes. He makes himself available any time he is needed by his fellow board members, or his customers, not only for business but for personal needs as well. Everyone agrees that you could not find a kinder man. He genuinely cares and that is reflected in all of his actions.

About Pam Van Austin: What an honor and privilege it is to know this person and to present this year's President's Award to Pam Van Austin from Get A Grip of Florabama. Every time I have spoken with them or emailed them they have always been professional, courteous, efficient and helpful with any of my questions. In speaking with a colleague, this year's recipient is a tremendous asset to the company. The company has been able to expand and grow beyond what the owner anticipated. The day in and day out is much easier because of the dedication of this individual. They are a cornerstone of the company.

"Along with Alabama, I am an Associate Board Member and Legislative Chairman for the Emerald Coast Apartment Association in Pensacola and now a delegate on the Florida Apartment Association's state board as well. All of these positions not only carry my name but Get A Grip's name as well. I am aware of the utmost importance in selling franchises to the entire Get A Grip network – not just for the corporate headquarters - but for all of us as a whole. I was nominated as a vendor to be President of Mobile Bay Area Apartment Association for 2012, which is rare for any vendor. Today that nomination was passed and as owner of Get A Grip of FloraBama, I will be just that. Along with this position I am now a delegate to the Alabama Apartment Associations state board and have been selected as an alternate delegate to the National Apartment Association's board."
